Position: Senior Accountant

Job description:

Our client in the Events Management Sector is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant who will oversee the day-to-day accounting activities and ensure the completion of daily tasks for both financial and management accounts within set deadlines and deliverables in coordination with the CEO. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing specific financial and performance reports assisting in budget preparation and reviews overseeing Annual Audits addressing KRA queries implementing internal controls and ensuring adherence to approved Finance SOPs within the company.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Generate weekly and monthly financial reports to aid decision-making processes.
• Manage Accounts Receivable (DSO) and Accounts Payable (creditors reports) effectively.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, NHIF/NSSF filings, and other tax obligations.
• Utilize accounting systems proficiently to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.

Qualifications:

• ACCA qualification or CPA(K).
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks online.
• Demonstrated experience in accounts and finance roles.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance.

Requirements:

• Should be below 50 years of age.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Technical Capability
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical skills – able to understand and interpret data, and make decisions based on data and solid business.
